Due to unprecedented public demand, all tickets were snapped up online within hours. The Ceann Comhairle, John O’Donoghue T.D. and the Cathaoirleach, Senator Pat Moylan will both be present at the event. “We are delighted that there has been such a positive response to our first Family Day.” they said. “Members of the public have clearly shown that they want to connect with the centre of politics. We are looking forward to opening the gates of Leinster House for what it is hoped will be a truly memorable event for both young and old."

Inside and outside Leinster House will be buzzing with activity, and the friendly open atmosphere will be enhanced by a series of free events programmed for the Leinster Lawn and Merrion Street areas, including House tours running every 10 minutes through the Main Hall, the former Taoiseachs Gallery and both the Dáil and Seanad Chambers.

Continuous musical performances during the day will include Irish Traditional, Jazz and African styles and students of the Gaiety School of Acting will perform “Famous Irish Political Speeches” at various locations. Organic artisan traders will also be selling delicious treats, and the innovative Tumble Circus will delight families with their spell-binding performances.
