11th June 09 The Houses of the Oireachtas Family Day has once again proved to be a hit with the public with all tickets for both days booking out in just over 24 hours. A total of 8,000 tickets have now been reserved via our special ticket line or at www.oireachtasevents.ie.
Ceann Comhairle, John O’Donoghue, TD said “The public have again responded magnificently to this initiative to open Leinster House. I am delighted with the demand that we have received from families and people from all over the country to accept the invitation to visit and experience the history and tradition of the Houses of the Oireachtas for themselves. I am really looking forward to opening the gates and welcoming people in for what I hope will be a full filled day for all.”
Cathaoirleach, Senator Pat Moylan said, “It is very encouraging that the public have responded in such numbers to attend the second Houses of the Oireachtas Family Day. I hope that families enjoy the experience of visiting their national parliament as well as enjoying the many attactions and entertainers that will be performing throughout the weekend.”
